Great show, but why are Elaine Pedley and Nell Ng there?! So awfully irritating.
Why does the director let his cast, especially Amy Len, go onstage with absolutely no facial expression whatsoever? It's a disappointment, as it spoils Aris and Judimar's great ability to convey moods with just one gesture or look. But Amy Len!!!!
Lighting is fantastic, though.

agree. with a movement/dance piece like this, especially in an experimental theatre such pentas two, the impact and energy from the performers need to be much more bigger and extreme. with less facial expression and small gestures will only make it looks like a group of mute people doing some steps (especially in the first scene: Class room scene) Suggestion: With such a energetic scene, a 'wow' or 'yeah' or whatever won't kill the concept. Otherwise, make your execution sharper and extreme. Perhaps on other things, use the frames for a reason especially the only one across the stage that being lowered down for, to most of us, no reason. Also, use the stage more perhaps, and one thing that is lacking for most parts is Confrontation.

Especially in the 'tick tock' scenes, we feel that as for other example; we're looking at our neighbour hanging clothes. Interesting? Not really. What if our neighbour turns towards/facing us and look up to the sky and suddenly start tearing. Interesting? FREAKY WEIRDO! and we'll probably think what the hell is wrong with her. Good thing? Yes! At least some of us will start asking to find out what the actors feel, and not what the actors know. At least the audiences won't go 'when is this thing going to end'. Confront the audience more (not exactly directly) but a little scare, a bit of stare, will wake us all up.

Other than that, great choreography. Awesome lighting. Keep it up and keep exploring the extremes. Great job guys! :-)

It was awful. I'm sorry to say it because it is the first time I've ever been disappointed by a performance by our very talented dancers. Maybe they just shouldn't have called it Passion. The dancers are excellent, technically gorgeous, but someone needs to teach them how to channel emotion. Their 'agonised' faces portrayed only surface feelings.
The choreography was lazy. The same few movements were used over and over again, and in painfully slow motion.
I assume that all that rubbing up against each other was supposed to portray passion as well, except there was no change of expression. No surprise, no joy, no change of rhythm, no use of negative space, just half-closed lids and creepy pretense at exploration.
I'm not sure what the point was of the slow walking on and off stage, but it just made the performance more tedious. Didn't really get the point of the 'dance class' numbers either. There was only one moment when one of the dancers looked out at us and connected with the audience. That's the one moment that woke me up.
The music seemed to have nothing to do with the performance either. It went from fast to slow, to silent to the weird metronome, but the dancing itself stayed monotonous.
I was really disappointed by the entire show. If there is one thing I've always loved about our young performers is the heart that they bring into their work. I'm not sure what happened here, but without raw emotion, a proper story, chemistry and with messy choreography and poorly planned direction, this was the worst performance i've ever seen.
I know that the dancers are capable of so much more. I hope the next person to take them in hand realises this and exploits their boundless potential.

wow, we do have serious critics here... i've only been to so few but i liked it somewhat. ok, there could have been a better play with space and better expressions from some performers but other than the helpful criticism from "Itu Macam Manyak Macam", i don't think anyone should be bothered by emotional rantings that appear more biased than anything. it's so easy to not be a dancer, sit back and complain.

i didn't like it when my mind wandered off on two occasions, when it got monotonous (simply too long?) after a while. still, i applaud the energy and combined effort by ALL the performers.

does anyone know if Judimar Hernandez has a dance studio in malaysia where she teaches?
I thought the show was inspiring there were parts that were long and a bit boring yet most of it was great

To Looking for a place to tango,

Judimar Hernandez has indicated to us that she may start contemporary dance classes for young adults (beginner & intermediate) next year.
