Synopsis : After wowing the audience with a truly riveting performance back in July, Shantona Kumari Bag returns for what is sure to be, a spectacular second season of "Storming Destiny".

Conceived and directed by Ramli Ibrahim especially for Shantona, "Storming Destiny" features a newly commissioned traditional Bharata Natyam repertoire by Chennai-based Jayanthi Subramaniam.

"Storming Destiny" successfully navigated the hazardous artistic seas where innovation collides with tradition, injecting intelligence and self-assured awareness into the robust choreography.

Currently pursuing her fifth year medical degree in Sydney, Australia, Shantona is also an accomplished Odissi dancer. Her solo Odissi performance, 'Winged Heart', won her the BOH Cameronian Audience Choice Award (2004).

Bharata Natyam was once a temple dance but has now invaded the contemporary stage. Sutra Dance Theatre’s performance however, not only presented the total possibility of total excellence from Sivarajah Natarajan’s brilliant lighting and set design, but also retained the sheer poetry, precision and divinity in Shantona’s dancing.

Presented by Sutra Dance Theatre, with Artistic Direction by Ramli Ibrahim.
